Velvety Couture is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fashion Designer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fashion design, exceptional sewing skills, and expertise in creating clothing patterns. In this role, you will manage our talented team of tailors, oversee production, and provide guidance and mentorship to ensure the highest quality craftsmanship in our bespoke creations.

Responsibilities:

• Create fashion illustrations.
• Test different materials for the design.
• Test the design on models and people.
• Work with production to see if the design is feasible.
• Develop innovative designs for the organization.
• Managing design process from conception through to final styling.
• Reviewing product for style and fit during sampling phase. Ensuring there are no construction defects.
• Coordinate with the production house regarding sample and production process.
• Engage in extensive trend and fabric research.

Qualifications for Fashion Designer

• Proven experience as a Fashion Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
• Proficiency in sewing, pattern making, and garment construction.
• Ability to create detailed design illustrations and technical drawings.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to speak English fluently.
• A passion for fashion and a desire to grow with our company.
