The role of entails providing valuable support to Professor David Bloom's research initiatives through tasks involving quantitative data analysis, desk research, and effective communication strategies. This position involves contributing to a diverse range of research projects, including but not limited to assessing the impact of non-communicable diseases in South America, conducting case studies on health technology assessment practices in Turkey, Argentina, and Colombia, facilitating the development of vaccines against group A Streptococcus, and evaluating the societal implications of innovative care models for type 1 diabetes. The will be under the guidance of Professor Bloom while actively participating in these projects.
The responsibilities include conducting thorough literature reviews, assembling dossiers, and performing desk research, along with conducting statistical analysis using publicly available datasets from sources like the U.S. Census, the Health and Retirement Survey, the American Community Survey, and United Nations datasets. Additionally, the will support the design of survey instruments, data collection, and data management protocols for Prof. Bloom's projects.
Furthermore, the position encompasses the task of drafting and editing communications, manuscripts, progress reports, and social media materials. Effective interaction with external contacts and University departments is also a critical aspect of this role, demanding a high level of professionalism. The will closely collaborate with other members of Prof. Bloom's research team to accomplish qualitative and quantitative research endeavors.
Position Description
The specific duties and responsibilities of the role encompass, but are not limited to, the following:
Conducting qualitative and quantitative research, including literature reviews and data analysis
Researching current public health events, updating presentations, drafting speaking notes, and supporting GHP 272 activities
Crafting and editing correspondence, memos, reports, presentations, and manuscripts
Participating in the development of funding proposals and budgeting materials
Fulfilling assigned duties as required

Basic Qualifications
Required: 2+ years of relevant experience (combination of education and experience may be considered)
Required: 1+ years of experience with statistical software such as SAS, R, or STATA
